Welcome to your new team

As a Development Director in Stibo DX you will have a key leadership role ensuring efficient software development and meeting the agreed pipeline of solutions. Your main product (a print software solution) has existed since 1979 and continuously been developed. Today, it is as relevant as ever with best-in-class AI-elements implemented.

Your team consists of 16 very experienced employees all located in Aarhus. You will collaborate closely with product management and be a key member of the senior development management team with direct reference to the CTO.

The other development teams in the organization are truly global teams with employees from Dhaka, Oslo, Hamburg, and Aarhus. Your team is expected to grow into a global team as well over the coming years.

 

The role – Strategic Global Leadership

The role sets high standards and strives to use best practices in software development for optimal speed, quality, and innovation. You will be working towards an internationalization of your team based in Aarhus.  

One of the main challenges in the position is to modernize the way a very experienced team works.
You will need to translate the strategic direction from top management into actionable tasks for the team to accomplish. Additionally, getting a succession plan in place for many team members will also be a key challenge to solve.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Help formulate, align, and implement processes for efficient delivery of value for customers.
• Assist the planning of new features and new products internally with relevant stakeholders.
• Day to day management of 16 employees.
• Ensure continuous development of people by delegating responsibilities and by setting clear expectations.
• Motivate employees to proactively achieve goals and results.
• Promote high performance, team spirit, knowledge sharing, and flexibility to result in a high degree of freedom for the individual employees.
• Contribute to employee well-being and a good working environment.
• Contribute to overall strategic decision-making and lead the implementation of strategically significant projects.

To be a success in the role as Development Director, you will ensure:

• Clearly defined processes and responsibilities that support and lead to consistent delivery of value.
• Consistent focus on quality and built-in security of software solutions.
• High employee motivation and efficiency.

You will also work to ensure good cooperation in the organization, among the development teams, and among other stakeholders. 
 

Your background – proven leadership success

You have a relevant theoretical background and several years’ experience in a similar position with good results to show for it. Most importantly, you have a track record of extraordinary leadership. 

You are intelligent, competent, analytical, have excellent communication and management skills, and you feel comfortable being a natural, open, and influential leader. 

Professional qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical leadership position – preferably related to software development.
• Self-motivated – always dedicated to high performance and new knowledge.
• Result-oriented and structured with a constant eye on improvement.
• Highly able to develop and maintain relationships across the organization.
